Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone-releasing peptide [Mao et al., 2014]. Hexarelin has the potential to bind and subsequently activate, the brain, the growth hormone secretagogue receptor . Moreover, hexarelin acts on both the pituitary and hypothalamic levels to engage in releasing growth hormone (GH) in humans and animals .
Hexarelin is considered a hexapepide (six amino acids) – His– D-2-methyl-Trp-Ala-D-Phe-Lys-NH2 . In addition to its structural data, hexarelin has a half-life of around 0.83 hours
